The cop aspirant in ‘Arakshaka’ is Upendra the real star and superstar of Kannada cinema. It is after 13 years Upendra is appearing as cop. The first time in a small role of cop in ‘Sh….of his direction he looked trim. Now he has put on lot of weight on and off the screen to take up the role of a cop.

Upendra says shaving his beard and cutting the long hair was not his choice but role of a cop requires such standards. I had to shave and cut my long hair. I would look like a ‘Penga’ with such costume I felt but somehow tried with such costumes in ‘Arakshaka’ a commercial venture.

As an audience Upendra has seen the film ‘Arakshaka’ and felt happy for handling of the subject. It is a tricky and fast paced narration. I discussed a lot with director P Vasu before the shoot and also at the time of shooting. Whatever acting I have done the credit should go to director P Vasu says Upendra.

Upendra also lauded the producer Krishna Prajwal for investing huge and conducting Homa again and again for this film.

I wish my combination with Gurukiran coming after 13 years of ‘A’ to become another ‘A’ in success. It is Gurukiran who remembered 23rd January 1998 – the film ‘A’ was released. It is exactly after 13 years three days later ‘Arakahska’ with ‘A’ starting letter releasing is a happy coincidence said Gurukiran.
